Sensei Ginette Arsenault, 3rd dan

sensei Ginette ArsenaultSensei Arsenault started karate July 1, 1982 with Sensei Pierre Latour, who at that time was a student of Shihan André Gilbert, so she has over 30 years of martial arts experience. This adventure began after seeing a karate demonstration done by children who passed their black belt. She was so impressed that the next day Isheenrolled. Throughout these 30 years she accomplished many milestones and events which she is proud of. Here are some of her martial arts career highlights:

Belt Promotion:

  • 1988: Passage 1st dan Black Belt
  • 1994: Passage of 2nd dan black belt
  • 2000: Passage of 3rd dan black belt

Experience as a karate instructor

  • 1987: Begins teaching karate to children on Saturday with Shihan André Gilbert
  • 1988 to 1989: Give karate classes for school children in Little Burgundy
  • 1990: Becomes director of the dojo St-Léon de Westmount through extracurricular activities.
  • 1991: Teaches in different classes for children at the center Andre Gilbert.
  • 2002-2011: Teaches karate school St. Joseph through extracurricular activities.

  • 2002: Seminar with Gary O'Neil
  • 2007-2009: Seminar with Kancho Matsui
  • 2012 Seminar with Shihan Francisco Filho in Montreal


  • 1982 and 2012 Participates in numerous competitions in kata and fighting
  • 2000: American Cup in New York kata


  • judge in several competitions semi contact and full contact (Montreal and New York)
  • 2003 Becomes IKO Judge

  • 5 years coordinator at day camp little ninja(with the karate school)
  • Author of two books on karate
  • Breaking 2 concrete blocks with the elbow and 5concrete blocks with the foot
